I'm sorry, I'm new here...
It is Laptop, a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro v2055, I use the laptop's LCD
panel.[[BR]]
It is Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop.

desktop or a laptop ? Which video output are you using (VGA, DVI, laptop
panel) ? Which chipset is your machine using ? Can you also please attach
the xorg conf and xorg log ?
