I have the same laptop. I use Gentoo Linux. With 0.2.903 I can't see a
mouse cursor and system freezes when exiting X or trying to change
resolution. I can't find any combination of driver options (in xorg.conf)
 that prevent from these freezes.
With trunk revision 686 I see something working as mouse cursor: a quite
big (about 80x80, didn't measured) square which looks like the artifacts
when your graphics card is too much overclocked. And the system doesn't
freeze when exiting X! In order to have a normal cursor, I set "SWCursor"
option to "true" which causes random freezes but they don't occur when
using "AccelMethod" "EXA". So with those options the driver is quite
usable: pages in Firefox scroll much more smoothly than on vesa, but I
have only ~20 FPS in SuperTux (~70 on vesa) with OpenGL disabled and ~8
(eight) with OpenGL enabled (~9 on vesa). Resolution changes work fine
(for example when playing SuperTux in fullscreen).

I can do some more testing if you tell me what exactly.
