Yes, the unknown card-id error is a big problem.

Did you pull the driver from the OpenChrome SVN repository?  (svn co
http://svn.openchrome.org/svn/trunk openchrome )

I know Xavier checked in some k8m800 id's within the last couple of
months.  I run a K8M800 board and the most recent version from SVN solved
my problems.

Send another email to the list with a gzipped copy over your xorg.log file
and details on your hardware.
