 Confirmed for Ubuntu Karmic. Jaunty worked for me if gnome-power-manager
 wasn't running.
 With Karmic the Screen just stays black, it gets white when turning to a
 console and on returning to X Server the system freezes (Caps/Num didn't
 work).
 I think the patch is used in svn741 (thats the version of the deb
 package).
