 Doug, please make sure you're using the very latest Fedora 10 openchrome
 package from the updates-testing repo. The openchrome driver that shipped
 with F10 contains a number of bugs which have been addressed since then
 and the updates-testing driver is the very latest from openchrome trunk.
 You should be able to remove all but the VBEModes option from the xorg
 conf.
