Comment:

I have exactly the same problem on my EPIA-SP10000 (CN400 chipset) system.
I'm using Centos 5.x, but with the latest release installed from source
(0.2.904). As far as I can tell skipping backwards through a part of the
video with an aspect ratio change is what normally triggers the lock up.

I also build a similar system for my parents using an EPIA M10000 (CLE266)
and Mandriva 2009 (I think). This suffers from exactly the same problem,
so it isn't linked to a specific chipset.

A complete reboot is always needed to get xvmc working again after a
freeze, although I can normally get the console working to do a clean
shutdown. Does anybody at least have a workaround which would 'clean up'
after a crash so that I at least don't have to reboot every time this
 happens?
