Comment(by prl):

 I'm using 4.3.4 (kdebase-4.3.4-1.fc12.i686) and was using it for all the
 tests which failed.

 This bug is currently name "With AIGLX enables KDE4.3 crashes". I think we
 have now demonstrated it's misnamed - it should be "With AIGLX enabled on
 openchrome, the X server crashes, which means the we can't used KDE 4.3".

 My guess is that KDE's probing for GLX which triggers the X server crash,
 and that is presumably the business of openchrome; as I noted above, there
 is no crash when openchrome runs on a new VT and can't get hold of the
 hardware.

 Should I raise a new bug? Should we rename this one?

 Incidentally, I have been trying to debug with gdb, following
 http://www.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/ServerDebugging - but I
 can't get this to work. Please could somebody tell me how to generate
 useful debugging info for openchrome?
