 Can you get a log with the "debug=1" flag to the drm kernel module.

 (log will be huge so just an excerpt around the failure, from the previous
 few ioctl calls to a couple of error lines)

 also with your extra logging in libxvmc do you see anything 'interesting'
 happening at the time, like the surface being destroyed?
