 Replying to [ticket:353 skin]:
 > I am using the VIA VN800 chipset on my Fujitsu v2030 notebook. X.org
starts with a default resolution in 1600x1200, but the native resolution
is 1024x768. If I change the resolution to the native or any other
resolution the screen gets corrupted and unusable (similar to Ticket
#241). I tested this with the latest openchrome trunk version on Fedora 12
 and Ubuntu 8.04/9.10.

You can fix the initial resolution in your xorg.conf with

 Option "PanelSize" "1024x786"

 in Section "Device" or with:

 Virtual 1024 768

 in SubSection "Display".

I'm using the same notebook and I couldn't find out how the resolution can
be changed after xorg-start without screen corruption. (no native
 modesetting, vbe is used)
