Comment(by prl):

My FC12 system is now updated to KDE 4.4.0. The first login after the
upgrade and after re-enabling AIGLX, I got a working KDE session - with 3D
acceleration! I got a respectably high number from glxgears (300-400fps
rather than ~30-50) and a working session. I am quite sure that I didn't
imagine this - I tried Google Earth and compiz (though didn't get window
effects, as I think some elements were missing).

Trouble is, all subsequent sessions have failed.

So - this does seem to represent progress... this is an intermittent
problem, which as all engineers know, almost certainly means a timing bug.
It may mean that KDE has been tweaked to help, although this working
session could be a random fluke and would have happened anyway.

I am happy to try to help get the root of this - I '''want''' to be able
to use the 3D acceleration. I'm afraid that "turn off 3D" is not an
answer (and neither is "KDE turns off 3D if it thinks something is
wrong"). Clearly there is problem with AIGLX on this hardware - let's
work to fix it. But - IS ANYONE LISTENING? Can someone ''please'' take
 ownership of this bug?

I have now asked twice for help with how to generate debugging information
for openchrome, and I have received no replies. Can someone please tell
me how, or give me an openchrome binary built with what is needed. The
generic debug instructions for X servers are unhelpful.
