i have been thinking about how this could work. it looks like there is
a problem with openchrome and there is a potion due to Xorg program
changing the names of modules. first I have to determine why and how
Xorg changes the name from openchrome_drv.so to openchromedrv.so.

the Xorg is the one tailored by Slackware. so I am going into that code
blind. I do know there is a disconnect in the pathnames. it is not
clear which path is used.

once I can rule out Xorg I can then determine the openchrome fault if
one exists.
