[Openchrome-users] Via Epia M10000 - CLE266 issues with 3d acceleration

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to enable 3d accel on my via epia m10000 but I have no luck.
The distro is a 10.04 mythbuntu.

The M1000 has a CLE266 chipset which should be well supported by
openchrome.

Here are the things I've done up till now:

- drm module is loaded at kernel startup. Here's what I get at boot:
$ dmesg |grep -e drm -e agp

- I've added the following lines to xorg.conf:
Section "DRI"
    Mode       0666
EndSection

- Nothing else added to xorg.conf. Default is to load glx, dri, dri2 (as shown in the log)

- I'm using openchrome xorg driver which should support the CLE266
chipset, but in /var/log/Xorg.0.log there's no [dri] line. Version for
the module is:

(II) Module openchrome: vendor="http://openchrome.org/"
        compiled for 1.7.5, module version = 0.2.904
        Module class: X.Org Video Driver
        ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 6.0

- no useful warning/error in Xorg.0.log:

$ grep -e WW -e EE  /var/log/Xorg.0.log
        (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(WW) The directory "/usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic" does not exist.
(II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
(WW) CHROME(0): Manufacturer plainly copied main PCI IDs to subsystem/card IDs.
(WW) CHROME(0): [XvMC] Cannot use XvMC without DRI!
(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found)
(II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-3781FECB9CB8D26EE03343DB2C93394EA704B98F.xkm

- I'm attaching Xorg.0.log to this email. I hope this can be useful to
you: I'm not really a xorg expert.

Thanks
