This should be fixed in trunk rev 904. You can either rebuild the driver
from an subversion checkout or add
Option "ForcePanel"
to the device section of your xorg conf.

afaik, Unity requires 3D driver but there's no free 3D driver for
Chrome9 chipsets. This shouldn't be a show-stopper though.
