 On recently installed Arch Linux system. The X server starts but video
 memory is not being written too. Part of the Arch Linux Boot screen, still
 in VESA memory, is seen when not using 2D accelaration. The mouse pointer
 is one large white square. The X server background is black when using 2D
 accelaration. The xterm window rectangle is drawn, but cursor and text are
 missing. The xterm can be closed in the normal way.
