I don't think this will be of much help ;-) but we at OSP are fans of 
SVG -- we like working with it for various reasons; for example because 
it allows us to work together with many designers on the same drawing. 
We experimented with/on a collaborative map of the history of graphics 
software: http://ospublish.constantvzw.org/map/ (viewable in Opera or 
FireFox); it has contributions from people based in different countries.

We plan to bring the project with us to next LGM but you can e-mail us 
layers or adjust existing ones anytime
