Owen,

The tarball does contain the source code for the profiler along with 
documentation and other stuff needed to build and run the software.  Just 
untar it and in the resulting directory there are instructions on how to 
build and install it.  It is a fairly easy build with only a few required 
(very common) packages to get it to run (qt and lcms).  Fairly standard stuff 
for *nix users.  Actually this should also build and run on Windows and Mac.  
But it has not been tested on either platform.
