The license issue is a rather small one with a trivial work-around 
(i.e. compliance).  See 
"http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/index_html#OriginalBSD" and 
"http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/bsd.html".  Interestingly, even though 
the FSF complains about the "advertising clause", there are somewhat 
similar clauses in GPL.
