Unmanaged ("device") RGB and CMYK have limited usefulness (particularly RGB) because they a) don't actually represent the device colorspace and b) don't provide a way to calibrate the color separation done by the printer or driver. Thus, you can tweak the colors on a particular set of media or ink, but you can't use completely different inks or media without replacing the driver or (in many cases) printer.
