If you haven't done so already, file bugs on this and let me know the bug numbers so I can track them. A lot of the CMM changed in Snow Leopard (and we fixed a lot of bugs there), so if these are still broken in 10.6 now is the time to get it fixed.

I'm not sure you'll ever see Apple providing support for third-party CMMs, but CUPS does allow users (and vendors) to provide replacement filters. I know of at least one RIP vendor that does this to replace cgpdftoraster for the printers they support.
