3. I think we now have profiles, but not a choice of renderings. Does
it matter? As someone recently pointed out :) without BPC using
application color works better in practice ... that's all I know as a
photographer.

I think this is better than the normalization-prematch workflow anyway, especially when we talk about more complex documents that are best suited being color managed and rasterized in a PDF/X-4 manner, which inevitably means downstream, not by the application itself.
