(The JDF standard is over 1100 pages long, and appears to be
  a collection of any and every possible thing that is vaguely
  associated with a print job. I'm sure you could create
  many programs that "talk" JDF, yet cannot communicate with
  each other, because they use a completely orthogonal
  subset of features.)
