I do not mean a person who makes all decisions, or final decisions, or necessarily establishes the direction. But if I want to get something done, I need to know what that is. If it's vague, ill defined, I can certainly talk about it and peripheral things for hours, days, or weeks. But that goes no where. If I really want to get something done I must know what that is first. Then evaluate where I am, and how I'm going to navigate my way to where I go. It's good to have structure and someone who can dispassionately inform the group about big picture consequences (good and bad) to certain choices.
