The "passthrough" should be inherent in the PDF. Then a user is not any
longer required to handle any specialised CMS options for target
printing.
lpr or CPD would print that target and the document would do the right
thing by itself. Most standards are in place for that to happen.
The only still freestyle option is for the several calibration levels. It
would be great to suggest print driver vendors a special vocabulary for
calibration stages in their PPDs or any other place. The at should IMO
come from print domain experts.
