To be blunt, yes. The Gutenprint CUPS driver is free to depend on as
many color frameworks as you like (colord, oyranos, neither or both)
but from my point of view for Fedora 16, all the pieces will be in
place for colord to be used by default by about 7 existing users (GTK
print dialog, CUPS, foomatic, gnome-settings-daemon,
gnome-control-center, gnome-color-manager and easy-scan).

It would be really good if Gutenprint worked out of the box too.
