The CUPS module exports all settings it detects. Detection is based on
the PPD ColorKeyWords key. Oyranos exports the result through its Device 
API.

Yes, just install the profile and Oyranos CMS sees contained driver 
settings in the meta tag. The embedded keys need to match the PPD ones.
It is the reverse of the above mentioned process.
However, the selection of one profile over an other is not much tested for 
print profiles.

A different approach for distribution is the Taxi data base (Taxi DB).
The selection process can be automated through the Taxi API.
