Til's suggestion -- which matches both an earlier suggestion in
the "requests CM-off" thread and my interpretation of what edmund
meant in the first post¹ -- covers that well. The choice can be
made per-queue via default settings or per job.
A ppd option with support in the filters is the only way to go.
The only reasonable points left for debate are the option's name
and translations thereof, if any.
