Cool, I've merged something quite like this. I kept the PkNetwork object
(even with no NetworkManager) to avoid lots of #ifdefs in the source
code. Can you please checkout git and see if it works okay for you.

I've checked with and without NetworkManager-glib-devel installed and it
seems to do the right thing. This also lets OpenSolaris (or whatever)
plug in the Network stack that they use.
