[packagekit] packagekit 0.1.7 -- does it, uh, do anything? :)

I've got PackageKit-0.1.7-1.fc9 installed on my up-to-date rawhide box,
along with gnome-packagekit-0.1.7-1.fc9. When I run pk-application, I get a
simple GUI interface with no actual packages shown, and when I try any
search, I get a popup that says "the search could not be completed". Am I
missing a step, or is this all the package does at this point?
