I think I forgot to mention that the reason why the toolbar makes the
width problematic is that all buttons are icon+text.

Oh, didn't mean to argue for adding a quit button.
Just for getting the quit menu item back...

The good thing about apply is that it would replace the install/remove
buttons with a single one. I haven't  seen the "list" (I assume it
doesn't exist yet as a graphical entity, but I think it is slightly
confusing to have _one_ list, with two separate buttons to act on
parts of it...

Why do we need to have "Add to list" in the toolbar ? Is that because
the checkbox in the list is not obvious enough ? Or is there some plan
to allow for multi-selection and make "Add to list" operate on the
selection ?

I'd have to see it, but a) I doubt it is doable and b) it sounds like
it will interfere with scrolling and selection in the list.
