[packagekit] Error in 'make; in gnome-packagekit

Hello,
i use distro linux mint 6,
While installing the gnome-packagekit i am not able to find .deb package for
xorg-x11-proto-dev, however i downloaded the rpm
package(xorg-x11-proto-devel-7.4-12.fc11.noarch) and converted it to .deb
via alien, but installation fails each time i try to do so.  *

the configure step of gnome-packagekit (./autogen.sh
--prefix=/home/hughsie/.root --enable-tests --enable-gtk-doc) functions
correctly but proclaims error in make :
