What roles do we need to set this socket up for? Would we ever need
debconf support for SearchFile? What about SimulateFoo?

I've got some hacky code locally that kinda works, I'm just adding a
dummy backend self check test, and making the module bulletproof.

Hopefully I can commit something basic and untested tomorrow.
