This is the money shot.

It is fixed by the following commit:

    glib: fix up a critical warning when installing a file, not a package

It looks like this is fixed in 0.6.6 and newer, and probably needs to
be fixed in RHEL6 with a backport. If you file a bug with a link to
that patch in Red Hat bugzilla I'll devack it for the QA gods to
assess.
