I initially filed my bug report here:

However it got closed there because i'm not using the telepathy-butterfly,
empathy and papyon version included in ubuntu 10.04.

After a while i can't chat anymore with empathy using MSN. I never noticed this
behaviour with the stack included in ubuntu 10.04. It started happening after i
upgraded my packages using the telepathy ppa. Initially i thought it had
something to do with changing my status. It seems to happen randomly.  When i
do change my status alot, it seems to happen faster though.

I know this bug report doesn't include the needed details. I've got no idea on
how to provide more useful information though.
