The two places its a pain are RHEL6 and I think one of the yocto's
I've seen lately was 2.8.10.2 or something

I'd probably prefer we avoid this, but since its broken right now I'm
not sure if its worth it.

When I was building with yocto I just reverted the patch that broke it.
