If neither of you feel it's important I'd prefer to actually rip it out and just support python3 since that would simplify piglit and remove dependencies. Even if you do care for not windows I don't have a problem saying that python2 on windows is unsupported. It shouldn't be too hard to get the python stuff wired back in after the C/C++ builds are landed, I'm find reintegrating after you land your work.
