[Pipewire-devel] latency compensation

Hi,

I have a multi-room sound setup where sound (music) is sent
simultaneously to several devices: internal sound card, bluetooth
speakers, hdmi output. I would like all these outputs to be
approximately synchronized. By "approximately" i mean: it's not a pro
audio context, i don't need sample perfect synchronization, I just
need that the sound in different rooms is not offset to the point
where it sounds as if there is an echo.

Reading Merge Request 460
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/merge_requests/460),
I understood that this feature is implemented. But I could not get it
to work. For a bluetooth speaker I set various "latency offset" values
between 0.0 and 500.0 ms in pavucontrol, then disconnect and reconnect the
bluetooth speaker, but it changes nothing at all.

Is it supposed to work? Am I doing it wrong?

best regards,
Matthieu
