You're of course free to request whatever you want, but I doubt we'll
change that.  bzr is available for lots of architectures and operating
systems and its UI is way more pleasant than git's.  Apart from
popularity, I don't see what git offers that bzr doesn't and which is
relevant for pkg-config.
