checking size of char... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (char)

Hello Pkg Config team,

I try to compile pkg-config 0.23 on SOLARIS 10 sparc system.

When I launched ./configure I 've got this error message :
checking size of char... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (char)

Do you have any idea what's meaning?
