unsatisfied code symbol in HPUX depot version

Installed the 0.25 version depot as found on hpux.connect.org.uk

When I then run the executable, I get
"/usr/lib/hpux32/dld.so: Unsatisfied code symbol 'g_malloc0_n' in load module '/usr/local/bin/pkg-config'."

System is running 11.31 Sept 2010 release

swlist shows that all the dependencies are installed
  gettext                       0.18.1.1       gettext
  glib2                         2.16.3         glib2
  libiconv                      1.13.1         libiconv
  popt                          1.16           popt
  zlib                          1.2.3          zlib
