Proposed: fontconfig

I'm proposing fontconfig with this mail.

Rationale:
Everyone likes their fonts to look nice. fontconfig is the method most
widely used in the free desktop world to deal with client-side fonts;
GNOME (and, I believe, KDE) use it, albeit indirectly.
