Agreed - these were my concerns exactly.

Yes, absolutely; hence my comments about the other platforms. It's not
just about two desktops, or one OS.

You have a right, and veto it is; seems you're echoing my encouragement
to go sit down and sort out the sync situation under Linux once and for
all.
