Question about the plymouth in initrd under Ubuntu

Dear all,
I use Ubuntu 11.10 and would like to know some details of plymouth.
Since all documents say that the plymouth is started at initrd, I want to
check the whole process of plymouth.
But when I open the initrd, I don't know which part/section is related to
plymouth
Could anyone give me a hint or which document can be the reference?
