Changing Plymouth themes in Centos

Please forgive me if this is the incorrect mailing list for questions but I
didn't have any luck in the Centos 6 Forum, IRC or the Plymouth Bugtracker.

I am simply trying to change my plymouth theme but it has no effect. Can
anyone confirm that changing themes works in Centos 6?

Am I doing something wrong? My (empty) Centos thread has the actions that I
performed to try and change my theme:
