I don't have access to a ppc box with a pmu -- I assume that right
now greq -q mem /sys/power/state would fail on those systems?

Other than that, it looks good -- can you push this as a feature branch
to the fd.o repository?  That way we can merge it into master after
2.6.25 is released and we have an oppourtunity for testing.
