I would just like to go over what I would like to see for the next few
releases of pm-utils:
1.1.1 - 1.1.x: Documentation updates, bugfixes, feedback from distros.
The feedback from the distros thing is definitly the most important
thing for this series -- getting it into the development branches of the
major distros will be a key factor in telling us what we should be
focusing on. 1 - 4 months is the general timeframe I am thinking of for
this series, depending on how much feedback we get.
1.2.x: Implementing things in the TODO. My preference is to start with
a workable solution to what to do when a hook fails and how to handle
suspend-hybrid returning from hibernate vs. standby, but I am open to
other suggestions. 4 - 6 months is the planning horizon I have in mind
for this series.
1.3: Modularizing the code that deals with OS-specific functionality
(loading/unloading modules, sleeping/waking the system, mabye other
things), modularizing services handling to work with init systems other
than SysV, things along those lines. These changes will probably not
require changes to the core pm-utils code, but better safe than sorry
here. 6 - 8 months for this category
I have gone ahead and documented some things I plan on working on in the
TODO file, and I would love to get feedback on the things that are
currently in the file. None of them are intended for the 1.1.x
category, some of them are clearly more in the way of wishlist items
than anything else.
I look forward to the feedback!
