Hi Victor et al,

could we please split up the patch. Imo the autodetection idea is a
good one, and I already implemented something like this for the Debian
package.
If we can get that upstream, even better ;-)

Regarding, dropping support for s2ram, you already noticed there is
too much controversy atm, so I'd leave it as is for now.
This needs further discussion. In the end, I would welcome if we come
to a solution which is acceptable for all distros and avoids the
duplicated effort.
I don't think it's a good idea to enforce such a decision upon everyone.
We should first gather all pros and cons of the different approaches
and try to reach a consensus.
