If you want to see if this is a pm-utils issue, open a terminal and  
run pm-suspend as root. If you that suspends and resumes normally  
multiple times, then you are not dealing with a pm-utils issue. You  
are most likely dealing with a gpm or acpi issue, which pm-utils does  
not handle.
