poppler-attachment.cc includes gstdio.h which is not available in glib <2.6. 
configure should either check for version 2.6 of glib or poppler-attachment.cc
be changed to work with an older version.

How to reproduce: try to compile poppler without glib 2.6 installed.

Workaround: If the glib bindings are not needed, compile with
--disable-poppler-glib.
