Well, the pdf itself is a bit faulty, it has 2 fonts that are not embedded so
it's up to the application rendering the pdf to provide them, i'll attach a
screenshot of the poppler test application and acroread 8.1.2 rendering here
and you'll see we do much better (in my computer)

I don't have evince so i can't test selection.
