Is the problem with printing from evince to a PS file or pdftops? The first
uses the cairo output device to generate the PS output. The seconds generates
uses the PS Output device.

It would help if you could provide a sample PDF, the incorrect PS output, and
the steps to reproduce the problem using only poppler or evince/poppler.
